Services

We are a full-service lighting and daylighting design firm with advanced capabilities.  We offer several standard packages that leverage our unique methods.  We can also tailor our work for specialized applications.

Residential lighting is deeply personal and collaborative.  We begin by listening – seeking to understand your vision, your daily routines, and the unique character of your space.  Lighting should not only be beautiful but also intuitive to your daily life. Our goal is to create changing ambiances, reinforce architectural ideas, and provide effortless functionality.

For exhibit and retail environments our focus is on showing the objects being displayed in the best light while choreographing how people will experience them.  We design for curatorial light under a range of sky conditions specific to the location.  We also pay special attention to changes in color temperature and spectrum that occurs with both daylight and electric light.

Our approach to workplace lighting blends functionality, comfort, and efficiency to create environments that support productivity and well-being. We design layered lighting systems that start with daylight and then overlay ambient, task, and decorative electric lighting.  Every solution is tailored to task requirements, spatial layout, and architectural identity, ensuring spaces are both visually engaging and resource-efficient.

Whether a library, classroom, or sports facility, our lighting designs seek to reinforce the institution’s mission and cultural identity while creating spaces that invite public engagement. We design lighting that highlights the architecture with sensitivity, ensuring each environment reflects its unique context. Low-maintenance, durable solutions are prioritized to support long-term stewardship and sustainability. By blending art and technology, our designs enrich visitor experiences and transform cultural spaces into welcoming destinations that inspire, educate, and connect communities.

Our exterior lighting designs prioritize balanced relationships among architecture, landscape, and the surrounding ecology.  We take a painterly approach – considering views from within and without.  Lighting is choreographed to enhance wayfinding and safety, reinforcing  foreground, middleground, and background elements.  This ensures a seamless transition between interior and exterior, and vice versa. Fixtures are carefully selected and positioned to maintain dark skies, reduce glare, and support ecological sensitivity, while durable, low-maintenance solutions ensure long-term performance.

Our standard packages build on a constantly-evolving suite of techniques and methods.  At the heart of our practice is a curiosity about spatial, material and sensory perception.  We are always searching for better ways to represent, predict, and verify the time-dependent qualities of light.
